After the the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, the city fell victim to one of the longest military sieges in modern history. The city was shut off from the world and the hills and surrounding city were overtaken with some 5000 civilians losing their lives.
As the war took its toll on the city, the Olympic Bobsled track was the last thing on people’s minds. The track remains intact even after almost 30 years of relentless exposure and spates of vandalism.
