Now that Calvin Johnson is gone, Detroit will have something else to look forward too. So, for the first time ever, the Detroit Lions are adding cheerleaders. Wait…what!? Who doesn’t have cheerleaders?

Via ESPN: “The Ford Family is unwavering in their commitment to improving the Detroit Lions fan experience on and off the field,” Wood said in a statement Monday. “After thorough consideration and receiving input from our fans through season ticket member surveys and focus groups, we believe that this is an opportunity to elevate our game day entertainment.”

If you didn’t know already (like us), but Buffalo, Chicago, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and the New York Giants are now the only teams in the league that do not employ cheerleaders. The Buffalo Bills once had cheerleaders, but they don’t know how to treat employees properly so a lawsuit in 2014 led to the Buffalo Jills quitting. What a name.

After months of speculation, the Detroit Lions announced Monday that they would be adding cheerleaders for the 2016 season. This should be interesting, can’t wait to see how long this lasts.
