THE DARK DEPTHS OF KRUBERA CAVE

The Krubera Cave (AKA Voronya Cave) is now officially the deepest known cave system.

With a dizzying depth of 2,197 meters (7,208 feet), this cave system is considered among seasoned explorers as the Everest of caves in the world. Located on the edge of the Black Sea in Abkhazia, the Krubera Cave has been explored since 1960 but it wasn’t until 2012 that the cave was explored deeper than 2,000 meters.
