This list details the world’s highest paid musicians representing their country. Their income is calculated purely on music or ticket sales. All I can say is, thank god Bieber and Kanye West aren’t in this list. With that being said, you’re not exactly going to like everyone below.
Shakira ($8 million)
The Colombian-born pop star pulled in a little over 8 million in 2014, although she’s down at position 6, her impressive net worth of somewhere north of $220 million dollars.
5. New Zealand
Lorde ($20 million)
It was reported that Lorde was the worlds highest-paid artist in 2012, pulling in an astonishing $46 million. In 2014, she took $20 million from tickets and music sales, bringing New Zealand to number 5 on our highest paid list.
AC/DC ($35 million)
Making a cool $35 million in music sales on time the road in 2014.
Taylor Swift ($40 million)
Swift was named the highest-earning musician of 2014. Beating Beyoncé to the number one spot, the singer made almost $40 million over the last year thanks to merchandising, album sales and tours. From her US tour alone, she made around $30 million thanks to big ticket and album sales.
Elton John ($54 million)
The Rocketman continues to cash in on the road, averaging over $1 million per city per night.
U2 ($195 million)
The ageless rockers are wrapping up the most lucrative tour in the history of music. By the time U2’s two-year trek ends this summer, the band will have sold $700 million worth of tickets over two years and played to more than 7 million people.
